Inter Union JFC News Reports
June 08 - Inter Union JFC set the standard
Inter Union JFC have been awarded the Cheshire County Charter Standard Club award for 2008 and been nominated for the regional FA Charter Standard award.
To begin with, it was a conversation between Simon Archer & Jason Maddock in the 2004 Mediterranean sun that saw the inception of Inter Union JFC. Little were they to know that this one simple idea would end up with a club that currently has 7 age groups ranging from u7’s to u13’s, 5 league titles, 7 cup winners trophies and its own youth training academy to it’s name. Currently playing in the Halton & District junior football league (HDJFL), Inter achieved the coveted “FA charter status” & “Cheshire County FA volunteer of the year” for Simon Archer in 2006 and “Cheshire County FA Grassroots coach of the year”, & “Halton Coach of the year” for Jason Maddock in 2007. These plus other accolades have contributed to the most recent & prestigious of awards for the “Cheshire County FA Charter Standard club award” for 2008 that confirms Inter’s commitment to local youth football. Cheshire FA’s Football Development Officer, James Self seen here presenting the award to Inters newly installed chairman Bob Wilson, said that the award demonstrates the commitment the managers, trainers, parents & guardians all have for the club and also how impressed he was with the clubs efforts to ensure they offer opportunities for players to develop their skills and play football in a safe and positive environment within the local community. In a recent interview with Mr Wilson, he noted that the one thing that impressed him was the way the children of all age groups were coached and the correct football ethic that is instilled in them from a young age. Inter are now looking forward to adding to there ever growing list of age groups and hope that it’s success can encourage other teams to strive for similar gains both on & off the field. If you wish to join Inter for next season, please contact Simon Archer on 07957602358or Jason Maddock on 07876657620 or go to www.inter-unionjfc.co.uk
Congratulations and well done to all at Inter Union JFC from everyone at the HDJFL,

Sept 07 - Halton Sports Coach of the Year
It is with great pleasure that we can announce that Jay Maddock won the coveted title of Coach of the Year at this years Halton Sports awards. The section covered a wide range of sport's, not just football and reflects the efforts Jay has put into not just his own team, but other aspects of the sport. The evening was attended by a number of local dignitaries including Halton Mayor Councillor Mike Hodgkinson and athlete Darren Scott. Jay was extremely humble in his acceptance, saying that he felt he did not deserve such an honour as some of the other candidates were as just as deserving as himself. The night was also attended by members of the Halton & District committee and Jay was quick to point out that they had played a big part in him being nominated so thanks from Inter goes out to Julie Cole, Jane White, Mike Mainwaring, Dave Wilson, Carole Gleave, Mike Galbraith & Jackie Feely.
