Academy Director - Phil Booth
Founded in 2006, Inter Union JFC introduced a new and innovative way to coach and school young players who are either new to the game of football or are after some extra training that they may not be getting at there own club. Because of the success of our Academy, in the 2007/08 season, we were able to introduce an U8's team purely based on players that attended the season before.
In 2007, Inter brought in Academy Director Phil Booth who is fully qualified and has over 13 years experience in coaching and working with young players. Phil's high rate of producing young footballers has benefited local leagues both in Runcorn & Warrington over the last 13 years with some players now playing for Inter. Working with Phil are some excellent up & coming young coaches - Christian Ward, Brian Mills and Tom Woosey. Phil and the team of coaches have created a training plan that will see Inter lead the way in true grass roots football for years to come.
So what makes Inters Academy different from the rest?........Our Academy classes are structured training sessions to help children improve their football skills and are not somewhere for you to send your child to just to kick a ball about.
When can my child start?..........The age range of the children span from 5 year olds to under 14's so there is scope for players of these ages to keep learning the great game in a relaxed and structured atmosphere.
Session Information
The Academy meets on Sundays at The Heath Playing Fields in Runcorn between 9:00am and 12:00pm. We run 3 training sessions each lasting for 1 hour. Each session is structured by the level of skill each child has so there is nobody playing against others far outside there current level and the relevant session is trained depending on its attendees ability.
9:00am - 10:00am Beginners Session
10:00 - 11:00am Intermediate Session
11:00am - 12:00pm Advanced Session
All new children to our Academy start by attending the beginners session (9:00am - 10:00am), your child will then be placed in one of the 3 sessions depending on their current skill and ability levels and which will most benefit them. Throughout the course, if a child's skill level improves, they will move up a level and step up training methods.
Each Academy course lasts for 10 weeks and costs £20. At the end of the programme, your child will receive an Inter Union JFC Academy Certificate to confirm successful completion of the course. For an additional one off fee of £20, your child will receive an official Inter Union JFC Academy training kit consisting of sock's, short's, training shirt with your child's initials and training sweat top. Both the training shirt and training sweat top are embroidered with the Inter Union JFC logo that will identify your child with an already successful club and will ensure your child feels comfortable with the rest of his/her class.
All training delivered by the Inter Union JFC Academy is fully endorsed using FA grassroots training techniques and all children signed up to our Academy are covered by the Inter Union JFC insurance policy as standard.

Phil has said that he regularly sees children re-registering at the end of a course due to the progress and enjoyment they have from attending and it's this response from the children and parents that drives him to do this demanding and also rewarding aspect of Inter Union JFC.
